| TIA Standards Update | Engineering Committee TR-42 develops and maintains voluntary telecommunications standards for telecommunications cabling infrastructure in user-owned buildings, such as commercial buildings, residential buildings, homes, data centers, industrial buildings, etc. The generic cabling topologies, design, distances and outlet configurations as well as specifics for these locations are addressed. The committee’s standards work covers requirements for copper and optical fiber cabling components (such as cables, connectors and cable assemblies), installation, and field testing in addition to the administration, pathways and spaces to support the cabling. This training module reviews the status of the current standards being modified and developed along with identifying the impact of key changes. There is a 6 question quiz at the end. You must achieve a score of at least 80% to get credit for completion of the module. You may take the quiz as many times as needed. This module is worth 2 BICSI CECs after successful completion. |

| U.S. Energy Codes and Standards | Energy-efficient buildings and products offer economic and environmental benefits. They diminish energy expenditures and environmental pollutants caused by consuming fossil fuels. They also help highlight economic opportunities for business and industry by promoting new energy efficient technologies. This course will discuss the codes and standards that influence and mandate energy usage in the United States. This course seeks to define the difference between an energy code and an energy standard, and explores specific codes and standards for lighting, ventilation and other relevant areas, while identifying the laws and international codes that govern them.
