TIA Standards Update | Engineering Committee TR-42 develops and maintains voluntary telecommunications standards for telecommunications cabling infrastructure in user-owned buildings, such as commercial buildings, residential buildings, homes, data centers, industrial buildings, etc. The generic cabling topologies, design, distances and outlet configurations as well as specifics for these locations are addressed. The committee’s standards work covers requirements for copper and optical fiber cabling components (such as cables, connectors and cable assemblies), installation, and field testing in addition to the administration, pathways and spaces to support the cabling. This training module reviews the status of the current standards being modified and developed along with identifying the impact of key changes. There is a 6 question quiz at the end. You must achieve a score of at least 80% to get credit for completion of the module. You may take the quiz as many times as needed. This module is worth 2 BICSI CECs after successful completion. |
